Hi! We're Crochet Craft Club

Welcome to our first newsletter

Hi everyone! Welcome to the Crochet Craft Club newsletter!

I’m glad you’re here! This newsletter is a space for crochet, knitting, and all things crafty.

I started Crochet Craft Club to share my love of crochet and fiber arts. It’s a work in progress, but I figure, “If not now, when?” So it’s live— janky, free theme and all.

I learned everything I know about crochet from other makers and artists online. As I was crocheting on the couch one evening, I figured: why not share my yarn-based love in the hopes that someone else out there can learn something new?

This newsletter is a work in progress, so the structure and content might change over time. For now, I plan on sharing free and $$ crochet and knitting patterns that I find creative, intriguing, and totally fun.

I’d like to send this thing out on a weekly basis, but we’ll see how it goes.

So, let’s crack into it. Here are some patterns that have caught my eye in recent weeks. 👀🧶

Crochet Patterns of the Week

Alright, here are some of my fave crochet patterns floating around the ~world wide web~

Flame Bucket Hat by PunkCrochetier

Uh, yeah. This Flame Bucket Hat crochet pattern by PunkCrochetier is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. It’s giving Guy Fieri. I’m a millennial, so maybe it’s giving something else entirely to Gen Z. Doesn’t matter! I’m elderly and I love it!

Northern Lights Stocking by Lisa Hounshell (free!)

I was looking through my under-utilized Ravelry library when I stumbled across this crochet stocking pattern by Lisa Hounshell. If you’re looking for a last-minute holiday project, this is it! This pattern looks so cute and quaint and all-around cozy Christmas.

Knitting Patterns of the Week

Full disclosure: I am a VERY beginner knitter. Most of the knit patterns in this newsletter are aspirational on my end. I’ll get there. One day.

Knit Duck Sweater Pattern by MadeInTheMomentShop

Made in the Moment recently released a knit version of the very popular crochet duck sweater. Yes, I know, this pattern is everywhere. But I think the hype is well-deserved! This pattern is size-inclusive, and people rave about how well-written it is.

Or $9 on the Made in the Moment site! Because those Etsy fees are ridiculous.

Snowy Mountain Ornament by Ekaterina Vorobeva (free!)

Don’t mind me. I’m just freaking out over how freaking cute this knit mountain ornament. It’s giving Sad Beige Lady vibes, but also like…I love it. I might try and crack into this knitting project. It seems doable for a beginner, right?

Pom Pom Magazine is Winding Down

Pom Pom, one of the most high-profile crafting magazines (imo), is coming to an end. 💔 Spring 2024 will be Pom Pom’s final issue.

They are currently hosting a 50% off Wind Down Sale. It’s bittersweet because their wonderful publications are half-off, which is unheard of. But it means we’ll never see another quarterly issue again!

I bought more than a few digital and physical copies of my favorite Pom Pom issues. You can do the same while supplies last. All purchases go toward supporting Pom Pom’s staff + freelancers.

Until Next Time, Crafters!

If you made it this far, thank you for reading my first newsletter! I have no idea what I’m doing, but I hope this thing grows into a fun and funky community.

You can check out more crafty things on the Crochet Craft Club website.

You can also check out threadwinners, a crochet collaborative by me and by bestie.

xoxo
