On-theme in yellow + some pom pom flowers

Today’s theme is: YELLOW! Yellow is one of my favorite colors. It brings summer to mind. Long days, sunsets, all that good stuff.

Also scroll down for a new handmade surprise from yours truly + some fun crafty events happening in California this month.

Crochet: Bee Pop Memory Game Pop It Pattern by CandyyarnShop

How flippin’ creative is this crochet toy?! This Bee Pop Memory Game crochet pattern* is a sensory memory game made entirely of yarn! Tiny crochet pods come together to create a honeycomb that kids can pop in and out. They can also stick the bees in certain pockets, flip it over, and challenge themselves to remember where the bees are hiding.

I’ve never seen anything like this! I think this is a creative crochet pattern if you have any little ones in your life who love sensory activities.

Knit: Light Summer Shorts by hollycwatson

I'm not gonna lie. I have my doubts about knit shorts for the summer, even if you use a light fingering weight yarn. However, these Light Summer Shorts look adorable and oh-so-comfy. Maybe it’s a good project to start now, so they’ll be done in the fall?

Pom Pom Flowers Everywhere

I’m tooting my own horn here, but I made these cute pom pom flower wall hangings. I love them, and I hope other people love them too.

I’ve only made two so far, but I have SO many pom poms in storage from previous exhibits and installations.

Anyway, the two wall hangings I’ve made so far are for sale on my Etsy if anyone is interested.
