New year, new makes (2025 edition)

Happy New Year, fiber friends! Here are a few patterns I’m planning and hoping to make in 2025.

How about you? Any new makes on the horizon? A new crafting skill? Let me know your crafty hopes and dreams! I hope you enjoy these four crochet and knit patterns and find some inspiration / motivation to start something new on your hook or needle.

Happy making! xoxo

Crochet: Tulip and Windmill Blanket

I came across this adorable blanket on TikTok, and I immediately sought it out on Ravelry. Thanks, algorithm! The Tulip and Windmill Blanket by Susan’s Family has cozy grandma vibes intersecting with 70s chic, and I’m in love with everything about it.

Crochet: SIA Cardigan

I want to try making more crochet wearables in 2025. This crochet SIA cardigan by ShowroomCrochet looks so cute and drapey. I think the trick to making this look good (on me) is finding the right yarn. Wish me luck, and join me in making this if you want!

Knit: The Sophie Scarf

I have a vague feeling that this Sophie Scarf pattern is viral somehow, but I’m not really invested enough to verify that. lmk. Anyway, I think this is super cute and seems like an easy pattern for beginners—like me! The pattern is for sale for 35 Danish Krone, which is about $5 USD.

Knit: Halibut Sweater

Okay, I know. I KNOW that my knitting skills are NOT going to be up to snuff in 2025 for me to actually make this sweater. But it’s aspirational, okay?! This halibut fish sweater by Caitlin Hunter is available on Ravelry.

Threadwinners at Vogue Knit Live

In personal news, Threadwinners has been working on a new installation for Vogue Knitting Live! We will be rolling out the big reveal in the next few days and weeks leading up to VKL, which takes place January 16-19 in NYC. If you’re going this year, be sure to stop by our table and say hi!
